galaxy gravy is an awesome name for a beer! especially a hazy new school one like this, i wish i had thought of that! the beer is really nice too, better than a lot of its peers, it sure seems like everyone is making this type of ipa now, for better or worse. i think galaxy hops specifically lend themselves well to this sort of thing, as distinct as their profile is, they can also be somewhat delicate, so i think a sturdier beer like this, built up wheaty starchy malt base and fuller body really help bring up the hops, give them something to hold on to, and extend what they offer, which makes the name even more appropriate. its not grossly hazy but it sure isnt clear either, brighter in shade than many of these, but without the head or carbonation i think it needs to stay drinkable, and i was fatigued of this one by the bottom of the glass as a result. the hops are awesome though, grassy and vegetal because of just how much of them are in here, but also with a classic melon and citrus profile that has made them famous, juicy cantaloupe and ripe oranges, along with white grape and nectarine notes, tropical but also bitter here, i think just from the sheer volume. good balance though from all the grain too, and its a very complete beer, save the lack of carbonation. good stuff from 4 hands, it seems they are always innovating and putting out cool new beers, ive liked everything ive had from them lately! this should do really well for them give current trends...

On tap. Poured a very hazy/cloudy orange color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled of orange, grapefruit and pineapple. Great tropical fruit sweetness with pine and toasted caramel.
