Madagascar Coconut & Cacao is a brand new addition to the Madagascar lineup. We aged our Madagascar Imperial Milk Stout in Bourbon barrels with toasted coconut and cacao nibs. The result is a rich, multi-layered mixture of coconut, chocolate, vanilla, and Bourbon.

22 ounce bottle into a snifter. 2020 version, had 10/31/20.
Pours near black and opaque, with a short, quickly dissipating head and very light cling. Aromas of chocolate, vanilla, coconut, some caramel, light bourbon, cocoa as it warms. Similar flavors- chocolate, bourbon- much more than the aroma, coconut, vanilla, malt, some cocoa, light caramel. Smooth, a very good full body, well carbonated.
The Cacao and coconut are solid additions, strong and distinct, and don’t take away from the typically solid base beer. Very enjoyable. Well worth a purchase at a bit of a high price point.

10oz draft. Poured an opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown head of foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of toasted coconut, dark chocolate, bourbon, vanilla and toffee. Nice toasted coconut taste with chocolate, bourbon, oak and vanilla notes.

Had on tap. Opaque black body with tan lacing and collar. Smell still has a good bit of vanilla, with the chocolate and bourbon settling in nicely, coconut finishes together with the rest. Taste is much the same, well balanced, coconut more forward than in nose but not obnoxious or overpowering though it does thin out a little by the finish. Feel is cool, velvety smooth, and medium bodied leaning light.
