Our Imperial Milk Stout was aged in Heaven Hill barrels with Madagascar vanilla beans for nearly 12 months before being transferred to a Withered Oak orange bitters barrel to impart sweet orange notes and subtle botanical character adding amazing complexity to this already indulgent beer.

Pours black with caramel foam. Aroma is barrel right up front, with delicate, but spicy rye, alongside orange bitters. Some dark fruit port sweetness leaches into the back. The steady notes are roasty and toasty malts. Both liquors push the nose a little closer to sweet, as opposed to heat. Flavor profile is roasty and toasty malts with a rye being the lead addition. Rye has a little edge to it, but remains smooth. Soft port notes behind add some bold sweetness. Chocolate, toffee, and molasses adorn the flavor profile throughout, filling in the gaps between stout and barrel. Mouth feel is medium-thick with a creamy texture that is low on grit. Overall, big barrel, but soft complexity. It's not harsh, despite being in two different barrels, rather, each adding some additional sweetness and smoothness.
