Poured from 16oz can into my BeerAdvocate teku. Canned 1/24/24.
Appearance: extremely dark brown, nearly black, and basically impenetrable to light but for some dim highlights around the edges. The head poured a very thin layer of tan foam, despite a moderately vigorous pour. Color is great, but more head would be nice.
Smell: very sweet; rich, chocolatey, vanilla-ey, and just a few hints of that orange coming through in the aroma. I also fancy some dark fruit aromas in there like figs and dates. Very appealing to me!
Taste: definitely a pastry stout; at first it’s like a too-sweet stout with a lot of vanilla, but then the orange butts in and makes it more of a chocolate creamsicle thing. I don’t think I would like something like this on a regular basis, but for a beer that is advertised as an orange-chocolate-vanilla milk stout, it’s definitely what it says on the tin. For a one-and-done beer, I like it quite a lot.
Mouthfeel: medium-rich body with a light carbonation. It is somewhat lacking in the creaminess department for a beer of this heaviness.
Overall: a good beer, but definitely a one-and-done dessert sipper.

Pours pitch black with a wispy cream colored head. Spotty and stringy lace. Very thin legs. Nose is chocolate covered orange. Like the chocolate ones you smash and eat piece by piece during the holidays. Beer opens sweet cream, sugary orange, and milk chocolate. More candied orange in the middle. Cocoa powder, lactose, and mellow roasted malt towards the finish. Body is medium with moderate carbonation. Prickly on the palate and goes down aggressive. Clean finish.
The flavor combination here is solid if not my cup of tea. Body needs work though.
