As far as light lagers go, City Wide Light is a cut above most. It hits the spot on a hot day or at one of St. Louis’ many concert venues. It may be an adjunct lager but there’s little to no corn character. Instead it’s clean, crackery malt and just enough of a hop bite to keep things honest. Nothing spectacular, but good for what it aims to be.

I enjoy most beers from this brewery, so I was intrigued by their light beer. From a tall aluminum can, it pours a light gold color. Plenty of carbonation and the head is almost nonexistent. The smell has a distinct corn adjunct scent, but also a bit of malt and hops. It certainly has more smell than most macro light beers. The taste is sweet, with more corn quality. It has a bit more body than I expected. I would still go for one of their regular beers before the light, but this wouldn't be bad on a hot day.

12oz can. Poured out a crystal clear, straw yellow color with a small, white fizzy head. It left minimal lacing. It smelled of corn, caramel and bread crust. Sweet caramel taste with bready notes and a mild bitterness.

Clear light golden color with a decent white head.
The aroma is light caramel malt and floral hops.
The taste is also light caramel malt, slightly sweet, with a fairly dry finish featuring some tasty floral hops for a nice balance.
The body is light, plenty of carbonation. smooth and very easy to drink.
Altogether, this is a tasty and refreshing brew, a good summer cooler, great for sporting events and backyard barbecues, light enough that you can have a few without too much impairment.
