Historically lauded as Frederick Wilhelm’s, the King in Prussia, favorite style of beer, Berliner Weisse is a low ABV, tart, light-bodied German-style wheat ale. Following brewhouse souring, Bramble Prussia is fermented on blackberries imparting a deep, fruity complexity that plays nicely with the soft lactic acidity of this super drinkable and quenching beer.

Amber hued with vibrant carbonation. There’s a fingernail of off white around the rim and covering a third of the top. The aroma is of blackberries and kettle sour brettanomyces. I’m tasting blackberries and brettanomyces. The mouth is moderately carbonated and refreshing.

Draft at Gerbes Market. Poured a slightly, cloudy, amber color with ruby highlights and a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It smelled of blackberries, wheat and tart notes. It tasted of tart blackberries, wheat and some yeastiness.

Clear light copper color with a modest white head.
The aroma is fresh bread with blackberries.
The taste is mildly sour wheat malt with fresh blackberries, tart but no real bitterness.
The body is light, good carbonation level, very drinkable.
Altogether, this is tasty and very refreshing, a good summer cooler and should go well with most foods, especially lighter fare like salads, very nice.
