The ninth release in a series of collaborations with breweries from around the country to bring the mighty Voltron to life, Voltron Volume Nine is a juicy, hazy IPA brewed with our cross-town friends at 2nd Shift Brewing. Late- and dry-hopped with a blend of Nelson Sauvin, Wai-iti and Nectaron, this tropical stunner bursts with notes of white grape, fresh squeezed lime, passion fruit and stone fruits, all soaring from a malt base of pale malt, white wheat and flaked oats.

Gold in color with a very hazy complexion. There’s a quarter inch of off white on most of the top. There’s aroma is of faint lemon and lime hops. I’m tasting lemon and lime hops. The mouth is sticky and resinous.

Pours gold with one finer of cream-colored head. Below average head retention & lacing
S: Melons, white grapes & peaches once warmer
T: Pomelo, green melon & a little dryness up front. Some peach notes, a little tangerine & more dryness as this beer warms up. Finishes with pink grapefruit, a little dryness & green melon, & passion fruit
MF: Medium body, moderate carbonation, decent balance
Pretty drinkable, but had higher hopes for this one, wish it matched the nose

16oz can. Poured out a cloudy, golden orange color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It left sudsy trails of lace. It smelled of grapefruit, orange , guava and caramel. Sweet fruity taste with toasted caramel and a piney bitterness.
