Served from tap into Black & Blue III shaker. Poured a massively dark brown with a minimal khaki colored head. Maintained decent lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, roasted malt, milk chocolate, and cream. The flavor was of sweet malt, milk chocolate, subtle roasted malt, dark chocolate, and very subtle cream. It had a medium feel on the palate with mild carbonation. Overall this was a decent brew. I was looking for this one most of the night at Black & Blue III, but didn't have any luck finding it at first. Come to find out it was the one guy sitting on a stool with a keg on ice by his feet that was serving. Go figure... The target they were going for on this one was acheived if I am completely honest. All of the flavors on this one would make one to believe that it was of the chocolate moose origin originally. However, as far as a brew goes this one wasn't that exciting really. Tasted good, but just lacked complexity in my opinion. Worth trying if you get the chance though.

Enjoyed at 3rd Annual Black & Blue in Charlotte, NC. Thanks brawleys!
A - thick and black with dark brown head; thin lacing faded to a ring fairly quickly; spotty lacing
S - chocolate, malt balls, more chocolate, some bread
T - cocoa powder, coffee, cream, some roasted malts maybe
M - medium bodied with light carbonation; mild cocoa linger
O - while i liked this beer is was pretty one-dimensional, but that is ok because chocolate is so yummy. not highly drinkable because the flavors would be repetitive but definitely try this one if you see it around NC. looking for great things from Loe's!
