The appearance was a deep brown color with a slight transparency about it but even that was extremely faint. Just a film of a little white frothy head that just slid into oblivion, no lace. The aroma had some chocolate and roasted malts up front with some gripping piney/resiny bitterness embracing the backbone. Some caramel/toffee malts slip in there for a light balance. The flavor leaned towards the sweet side through the previously mentioned aromas. This blended into the aftertaste and rode into the finish. The feel was about medium bodied with a good sipping quality about it. Hops seemed to create a bit more harshness in this department, somewhat acceptable to me. Overall, so where was the "mint?" I read and heard "mint." This never delivered on that.
