Pours very dark brown with a tan head and an incredible, cement like lace.
Raw peanuts and hot magnesium in the nose. A very raw, acrid roasted malt aroma.
The flavor follows through with the abundance of roasted malts in the aroma. Acrid, astringent. Alot of black patent here.
The astringency adds a lightness of body that lessens the full mouthfeel that reduces the "essence of porter" but leads to a remarkably drinkable beer.
