From Bierkraft. In Teku glass. Playing Pilgrim Academy, then One Last Chance. Fairly smoky but without being as unpleasant as schlenkerlas, maybe thanks to a light, uncarbonated body and a well-adjusted bitter ending

Deep copper with no carbonation, and a light haze.

Smokey, malty, like bbq sauce or a campfire. Hints of sourness as well.

Tastes of smokey bbq sauce, burning twigs, slight sweetness and also like a Marzan (the reason I'm drinking at Oktoberfest time) a hint of bitterness, malt and clean linen.

Light body, slightly syrupy, with almost no carbonation.

Had this sent from Bangkok. Been looking forward to it due to the reviews and proclaimed hybrid hype- marzan meets rauchbier. Drinking Sept 30th, 2017, in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Poured on tap at Churchkey into a snifter.

Golden copper body, fairly clear as well, with a good bowled collar tan and creamy in appearance.

Aroma has a touch of smore but far too much dental novocaine character. Slight spice and caramel.

Palate unfortunately isn't that pleasant. Smoke but large numbing medicinal novocaine bent. Light bodied and a touch of malt sweetness, taking some of the smoke into a touch of wood. Really watery palate as well, as the good flavors are kind of fleeting.

Once in awhile I run into these dental rauchs, it's unfortunate.

Almost clear amber color with just a bit of beige foam. Aroma has the specific german rauchmalt savory notes with some sweet, sticky syrup notes and dried fruits. Taste is not as intense as expected from the aroma. It's malty, slightly sweet at first but more earthy and bitter towards the finish with lingering smoked malt notes. Medium body, almost flat. The mouthfeel is the worst part about this beer making it quite difficult to drink.
