Done in collaboration with Rockaway, KCBC, and (questionably) Pretty Things breweries. The bartender speculated that Pretty Things brewmaster may have gone to Germany to make this beer. A nice sentiment.

Looks like mud -- dark brown and very cloudy. Lasting head with blankets of lace forming in the tulip glass.

Sweet with a hint of chocolate malt and some cream. Subtle and attractive.

Much more hoppy than most doppelbocks, and less sweet as well. The darker (read: deeply toasted, less chocolate) malt still dominates. Solid DB body but with an elevated carbonation level. It's not thick from a lot of sugars. The finish is dry with a very pleasant blend dark toast and bittering hop, leaving a long aftertaste.
