After some finagling with the barkeep at La Becasse, he sold me the display bottle when there were none left for on-site consumption.
Deep crimson, looks like black cherry juice with a dark pink purple foam.
Rich aroma and taste of Schaerbeekse cherries, some damp wood, almond and lemon zest. Very cohesive and well rounded, tart cherry acidity but it is well integrated. Smooth feel, effervescent carb.
For me, this is a redeeming offering from Timmermans. They can release traditional lambic, but only in small doses it seems.

750 ml corked & caged dark bottle, as Timmermans 1702 - Oude Schaarbeekse Kriek Griotteke, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 6.7%. Deep red colour, off-white to pink head. Distinct aroma of sour cherries and almonds / marzipan, also notes of farmhouse kitchen. Sour flavour with sour cherries galore, brettanomyces and hints of lemons.
