Appearance: Pours a cloudy goldenstraw with a one finger head that fades rather quickly; wisps of lacing

Smell: Funk on funk, the p. roqueforti fungus strain really comes through, with peach, lemon and vinous tones supporting the aromatics

Taste: Tart peach and lemon forward, with hints of the fruity sweetness underneath; in the middle, absurdly funky, through the middle, with roquefort cheese tones developing; the finish is funky, tart and dry, with just a hint of the fruit in the aftertaste

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation; moderate pucker

Overall: Finishing up my survey of the Draai Laag beers from a recent trade and this was by far the best of the bunch; a mixed lot, overall, but several of these beers show the heights that this experimental brewery can reach

Thanks, ArtAttackEd, for the opportunity

Thanks goes out to thebeers for this brew.

16.9 oz. Bottle

Poured into a tulip a very nice cloudy yellow color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice quick/small white head, which leaves minimal sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, yeasty, funky, tart, sour. The taste is pretty nice malty, yeasty, tart, funky, sour. Medium body. Overall, this one surprised me, very nice.

500 ml bottle

Pours a slightly hazy lemon gold, fizzy white head dissipates quickly to nothing.

Smells of cracker, cereal, lemon citrus, peaches, and the tang of bleu cheese.

Tastes of cracker, sourdough, lemon citrus, peaches, wine grapes, and light oak. Hints of funk in the aftertaste attributable to the bleu cheese mold.

Light to medium body with Fizzy carbonation on the tongue.

A light but full-flavored sweet and sour treat, great balance and unique characteristics. Really lovely, hope they do this one again. I'd drink it regularly.

Poured into a tulip, nice hazy, light golden-orange, thin ring of head with fast, tight nucleation.

Smells of lemon, tangerine, peach, a little earthy funk, slightly urinal/enteric (not in a bad way), oak, a little oxidized cardboard. Sweetness creeps in as it warms.

Sour peach in the taste, more of a sweaty/"footy" kind of fattiness, tart lemon, again a vinous oak character, strawberry.

Bracing acidity, clings a little, doesn't cling too heavily.

Honestly, I'm a little disappointed that I can't discern any clear blue cheese character in this, but not too disappointed because what's here is a really tasty sour peach ale.
