Bottle #205. The beer was aged in Jack Daniels whiskey barrels.
Dark honey colored body with a relatively thin yet persistent head; lacing and rings on the glass. Heavy toffee and caramel sweetness in the nose; figs. Sweet and juicy malts with a brown sugar edge beneath it all; smooth alcohol warmth throughout; subtle hop bitterness in the finish. Heavy body; thick and vinous.
A very deep and warm barley wine with heavy emphasis on the malt components. The whiskey barrel flavors do shine through yet it's the big malt side of things that really shine through. The beer has an amazing mixture of luscious fruit sweetness, dextrous body and sweetness, and just the right edge of booziness to it. Should have bought two bottles of this stuff...Well, I think they still have it on tap for a little while more...
