this is super raw, and i love super raw in a hefe lately, too many are coming too clean and light, too delicate, this one really lets me have it, and man was it refreshing. served in a traditional glass, its almost milky yellow, creamy as they come, with a tall white head, lazy and lingering. the nose is yeasty, big time yeasty, not quite as sharp or ester laden as others, but it still hits the mark. the malt body feels bigger too, and it has a frothiness to it that i really like, throat coating on the way down, but still clean somehow too, still light and refreshing for all of this texture. i definitely taste some lemon in it too, not acidic but fresh lemon just the same. its a cool twist there in the finish, maybe there is lemon, maybe its the hops, but it really works. dont be turned off by the thick looking beer, its really delicious, and honestly one of the best beers i had there last night. one of the better examples of the style i have had in colorado actually, and a heck of a companion to a shot of rye whiskey!
