Served in a tulip glass and appears mostly black with a thin, wispy head; light sheets of lacing. Malt sweetness and anise in the aroma with a touch of roasted grain. Sweet chocolate flavor with root beer-like undertones. raspy hop bitterness. Medium bodied with semi-sweet finish.
A good beer overall with some interesting twists and traits with the flavor and mouthfeel. Chocolate and cocoa notes w a weird (though not off-putting) bitterness and alcohol warmth. Decent enough for a one-shot deal.
