Deep mahogany red topped with rich, creamy head; solid, thick rings of beer foam. Warm bread aroma with a hint of spiciness. Light caramel flavor with a gentle hop bitterness; very little rye presence. Medium bodied and incredibly smooth and velvety character from the head.
A very satisfying ale. Looks and feel are outstanding while the smell and aroma start slow yet quickly bring satisfaction. The rye really doesn't jump out at you at any point but builds up slowly over the course of each glassful. It does a great job of adding just enough oomph and zest to a mild malt base.
