Experienced on-tap at Phantom Canyon's bar...
Murky brown body (it's an unfiltered beer) with an initial fizzy head that quickly fades to a bare wisp of suds that hardly covers the top portion of the beer. The smell has hints of caramel with notes of raisins. The taste is similar to the aroma with a mild smokiness slowly building and making itself known at the finish. The mouthfeel is thin and watery yet somewhat coarse on the palate; mostly dry finish.
A lackluster, weak beer. It lacks depth and body. Its only saving grace is the slow appearance of the German smoked malt. A disappointing brew.
