Brewed with local honey and toasted hemp seeds.
Dark, clear brown body; one-finger thick off-white head. Faint notes of charred grain smell. Mildly bitter, dark grain taste; bitter. Medium body; smooth and rather watery; mostly dry finish.
As always, I have to wonder how much the relatively cold serving temperature impacts a lot of the draft beers at Phantom Canyon. This English styled brown seems rather weak overall yet still manages to deliver brown ale aspects. It seems to open and grow with some warming, but I'm here to drink beer and not putz around waiting for my glass of suds to warm up. Regardless, this is a fair brown ale although there is no evidence of the honey or hemp seed used in its creation.
