An underappreciated gem I was delighted to find for sale at the brewpub (and only there, as far as I know). The highlight of the bottle share where I tried it. The sweetness, booziness, and that barleywine bite are in outstanding balance.

Dark amber body; dense, creamy, off-white head. Whiskey-tinged aroma; hints of dark fruit; caramel. Heavy toffee and caramel flavor; bourbon edged taste. Heavy, smooth body; syrupy.
A fine, solid barleywine example. Heavy sweetness throughout the flavor and mouthfeel with a rich toffee and brown sugar quality. Perhaps a tad too sweet overall, yet the richness is quite satisfying.
