Black body; thin yet lasting tan head; sheets of foam down the glass. Roasted grain and mild chocolate aroma. Bitter flavor upfront slowly revealing mild chocolate and acrid coffee ground flavors. Watery heaviness to the mouthfeel; smooth and glassy.
Kind of a half-baked oatmeal stout. One does get the oatmeal smoothness but neither the grain bill or cask aging can make up for a biting bitterness that overtakes things. There is a definite lack of body and flavor.
