Brewed with hazelnuts and milk sugar, then aged on chocolate and in whiskey barrels this brown ale is bursting with rich, complex flavors. This ale has whiskey and vanilla aromas as well as chocolate and subtle nut flavors.

Brown body with a thin, tan head. Very faint scent of retype with traces of chocolate and roasted grains and nuts. Rich flavor of chocolate, booze, and vanilla; pecans and caramel. Heavy body; deep sweetness tempered with a very slight alcohol dryness; warm.

The flavor excels with this beer. Lots of depth and balance with just the right touch of barrel-aging for an added dimension. Perhaps the appearance and nose would open some more with some gentle warming. A winner if only for the taste.
