Munich Helles, a crisp lager that’s slightly less bier than its cousin pilsner, is the drinking beer of Bavaria. This one has a Bamberg inspired twist: It has a sweet, smoky smell from smoked malt. Cold fermentation and lagering produce a beer that is brilliant and clean.

Amber colored body with a thin, soapy head. Light smoked aroma. Smokey flavor, low-key malt presence; delicate swetness; decent hop bitterness. Light, watery mouthfeel; light and dry on the palate.
Well, it has its Smokey presence, but otherwise bland and mundane.
