Our Winter Warmer Ale was brewed with a variety of Specialty Malts including Honey malt, Light Crystal, Coffee malt, Chocolate malt and a good helping of Flaked Barley. Aged on French Oak for a delicate touch of wood character to hold up the super rich, malty sweetness found in each sip in this festive English style ale.

Very dark brown body, clear; nice head, one-plus finger thick, light khaki color with a foamy texture; laddered rings of foam cascade down the glass interior. Amazing dark roasted grain and nut aroma; bold and alluring. Rich malted caramel sweetness; roasted grains and with a light cocoa and milk chocolate addition; mild vanilla undertone; light grain husk bitterness. Heavy body; smooth and lightly velvety; semi-sweet with a light wood-like dryness.
One of the finest winter warmers I've encountered in recent memory. The aroma is killer, warm, rich, and very inviting. The taste also exudes wonderfulness. It appears to rely primary on the malt bill and hops without the use of more common holiday adjuncts of spices and honey and such. Unpretentious and straightforward seasonal goodness.
Pouring temperature: 44 °F; crowler info: 12/12/22; source: local brewery
+++ late note: bumped up the 'Look' from 4.0 to 4.25 - incredible smooth sheets of foam cling to the glass; 'Feel' from 3.75 to 4.0 - smooth and very creamy; 'Overall - from 4.0 to 4.25 because of my re-eval after the beer has been setting and poured over the past 2+ hours...it really develops more character and appeal...
