Pours a slightly hazy light copper with one finger of nice white head. The smell is pretty straightforward tripel with plenty of spicy belgian yeast, lots of clove and nutmeg like spices. Not as much fruity esters as I would expect from a tripel. The taste is very spice forward like the nose but opens up with an added herbal depth. Again, I was expecting and hoping for more fruitiness here. The mouthfeel was very nice and hid the alcohol well, a mild warming but no harshness. Overall this is a nice, though not a terribly complex tripel.
