Labeled as a 'spiced winter warmer' on their beer list board.
The poured beer had a ruby-red, mahogany body with a thick, sticky, clinging head. Pungent nose, ripe with spices; cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger. Taste came across like a liquid Xmas cookie: the above mentioned spices with a solid, caramel malt backbone; hints of toffee; light, ticklish hop bitterness. The body felt medium, smooth, clean; with a semi-sweet tingle on the tongue.
One of the best winter ales I've encountered this season. A powerful, flavorful spiced ale without any unbalanced or overpowering characteristics to detract from its wonderfulness. Who knows if they'll brew this up in the future, so get it while you can...!!!
