definitely a cool beer, a lighter lager with a very modern complexion, hopped with new zealand varietals, and without the usual bitterness for the style, its more of a dry hopped profile, kind of new school, and while not as delicate and well refined as it probably could be overall, i think they did a pretty nice job with it. the classic european pils malt is here, along with a light put perceptible lager yeast strain, lighter than the imports in flavor but still running with some body most of the way. decent clarity and head, aroma is fruity and off dry, with mango and white wine notes, quite well incorporated, a little unconventional for the style, but its a cool twist with these distinctive varietals. the malt has more character as it warms up, and the fruitiness of the hops ramps up as well. i love the subtle complexity this has, but i also like it better when its ice cold and a little more refreshing. a little cleaning up around the edges would make this really good, highly drinkable as it is now though, and one of the more flavorful lighter offerings we had in here.
