L'Espace Public-Brasseurs de quartier "L'Apollo"
on tap at the brewery on 6 October 2014
$6 / pinte
Notes: Image of Apollo Creed from the Rocky movies used - kind of funny, but at just 6.5% ABV it's really not that strong though, nor bulky, and although it's a little bit American in its use of hops it's not really full on - it is a strong, dark, semi-American porter though! Appearance: Black body beneath a dark tan head. Very good head retention and excellent lacing - nice looking glass of beer. Aroma: roasty malts, coffee, and caramel. Flavor: As might be expected, the flavor follows. There's a hint of citrus to it hop-wise, but it's mainly leafy and grassy in character. Stiffly bitter and balanced. Mouthfeel: Medium in body with a standard carbonation. Dry, lingering bitter and roasty finish. Nicely balanced and rounded. Overall: Solid offering, delivering exactly what it promises.
