Tasted in a Rastal Teku from a one pint can on April 9, 2018. A Ton-Load is a single hopped hazy DIPA with honey. A simple grain bill of American 2-row Barley, White Wheat and Oats combine with premium honey and Vermont Ale Yeast to create a clean, soft base to showcase the selected hop variety. A ton of the selected variety was added during whirlpool, and loads more for a dry hop to display its unique qualities.

A new entry in Bare Hands' Ton Load series, featuring Idaho 7 hops. Upon cracking the pint can, a cacophony of smells is unleashed upon my kitchen--guava, mango, apricot, pepper, biscuit, pine resin, and other assorted fruits. In the mouth, the flavors fight for dominance, ultimately coming across as somewhat of an IPA-saison hybrid, with tropical fruit and resin being counterbalanced by pepper and yeast. Unique, well executed, and a nice showcase for a newer hop variety.

Hazy golden straw color, off-white Head. First note on the nose is pepper - loads of pepper, with berries in the background.

The berries move forward on the taste, with the spicy pepper in the background. This is a really cool take on a single-hop DIPA. Well done by Bare Hands.
