Excellent head production. A touch fizzy and quickly lessening, but it eventually settles into a nice light foam topper. Body is cloudy and lemon-yellow. Very nice lacing.
Musty and rustic nose. Belgian yeast dominates; no hint of pears. Banana, honey, clove, light citrus.
Similar on the palate: thickly malty, accented throughout by Belgian yeast. Straw and hay, honey, lemon, coriander, clove, banana. The pear is there if you know to look for it, but otherwise blends into the background effortlessly.
Very smooth presentation, owing no doubt in part to the wheat. Thick, medium-full bodied, with growing back-end heat.

Pours a hazy golden color with a sudsy pearl white head. The funky Belgian yeast notes dominate the nose, but the pears are definitely present as a subtle sweetness.
The pears are more prominent on the taste, especially as this warms. A nice Belgian pale ale that is enhanced by the pear addition.
