Pours a clear reddish/copper, thick white head, nice lacing, head lasts until the pint is finished. Smell is sweet, spicy rye tang, some citrus and floral notes, malty, very nice. Taste is malty, spicy rye again, smooth floral, grainy spice bitterness in the finish. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with low carbonation, very smooth, neat flavours, insanely drinkable along with the cask ale.

Very quaffable as something slightly different. The rye taste is well defined but smooth. Pours an attractive colour with good retention. Flavour is simple but honest. This is a beer Id love to have again. Not nearly as pronouced as many other rye beers, but this does lend to it a nice texture. A very likeable beer.

Unexpected flavors really can be a treat, can't they? I have run into several ales in Canada that proudly proclaimed a flavor on their label that was not borne out in the brew. C'est What uses a judicious amount of rye in the brew, and the balanced flavor with notes of rye character was very appealing.

It's hard to rate a rye beer, as one has had so few and the taste buds don't exactly remember that last rye that went down the pipe. (I do remember the last wild brown rice beer-eeeps!) But this unique malt profile is done very well. The color of a brown ale, but with no residual sweetness that one would find in that style.

Numerical scores in this case are reflective of my recommendation to order and enjoy one.

Very enjoyable beer on tap at C'est What? in Toronto. Clear, orange-red colour with a thin head. Pleasant mild spicy aroma. It has a nice balance with a light bitterness and a gentle sweetness from the rye grain (this builds a little throughout the pint). It was lightly carbonated with a moderately light body and a clean finish. Definitely a beer that I'll have again.

I didn't know what to expect from this and was quite pleasantly surprised. This is one darn good beer.

Short head, filmy lace all the way. Amber coloured. Fruity nose. Taste reminds me of a very gentle witbier in some ways with gentle hints of spice or clove. Fruit and malt tastes, quite tasty.

I really enjoyed this, so did my wife. I'll be heading back for more of this one.

A surprising and different beer. Looked like gingerale and poured like such, with noticeable carbination. Even tasted somewhat like it but very cirussy refreshing. Would have it again. Saw colour as pale amber. Refreshing and would accompany some food uniquely.

A pretty interesting Rye beer with a nice fruity taste. This beer was a dark amber colour and it had a little head. The aromas were very fruity and interesting and the taste was more of the same. Very fruity, mild, matly and a bit hoppy. The mouthfeel was a little thin but the drinkability was definately above average. not one of the trio of C'est What? masterpieces, but still a very good beer!
Cheers!
