Part of the single hop project from Way Beer, for a taste session of Citra, Cascade and Amarillo single hop American Pale Ales.
Amber color poured 3 fingers of head with medium retention.
Vey citric aroma, pineapple and passion fruit being predominant. Comparing to the other single hops, it presented the strongest and nicest aroma.
Flavor has a strong sweet citrusy feeling with passion fruit and orange notes. This one was the most intense among the others from the single hop project. Dry with a medium bitterness aftertaste.
Medium body with low carbonation.
A bit ahead of the others, though if it were less sweet it would have been a clear winner.

As a lover of Citra hops, this was my main event. The finale of Way's Single Hop Project; which showcases the three varieties of hops used in thier American Pale Ale in different glasses (or in this case bottles), was a gift from Sergio. Valeu, cara! On to the beer:
A soapy inch thick head sits on top of this browned orange colored brew. Like the Amarillo, many patches of lace attempt to cover the glass. The Citra hops, at first impression, deliever a little more hop juice to the nose than the other two versions. Pineapple hits the nostrils first, then comes the everpredictable honey graham cracker base. A boost of passionfruit tilts the nose of the Citra version to be the best of the three.
Honey graham crackers are alive and well in the Citra version too. But worth noting is the hoppiness is stronger in comparison. Attractive pineapple notes satisfy the palate. Passionfruit and orange accents adds to the beauty of this beer. Medium bodied and crisp, and for any lover of Citra hops, is highly satisfying to drink.
Though numerically not far ahead of the Amarillo version, Way's Single Hop Citra is the best of the project. All three are satisfying beers on their own, yet I would love to trade the three for a fresh pint of the original.
