Nice two-story brewpub located just off the busy main-street in the city centre. They preserved the industrial character of the building, lot's of wood and brass furniture. Chalkboards with the available beers on tap and additional information, even mentioning the IBU's and the hop varieties they used. Dried hops are hanging from the ceiling. Downstairs you have a nice view of the brewkettles. I was there in the afternoon and there was lots of sunlight coming in through the windows, making the atmosphere pleasant and outgoing. It was quite busy, seems like this place is popular amongst the locals.
All the available beers are as fresh as you could expect in a brewpub. About six taps, nice mix of lighter and hoppy summerbeers/ bitters and stout. Service was okay. The food was a letdown to me. I had the lambshank and it was really dry with some microwaved veggies. The quality of the beers was what really stood out. I recommend going to the Foundry for a pint when you are in Canterbury.
