Can into a tulip glass. Pours dark red mahogany with 2+ fingers of chalky white medium density head that had moderate retention and left spotty lacing. Nose is competing blood orange and malt, hints of sweetness. Taste follows the nose well, really wanted more hop punch and less malt. Finishes with some subtle lingering malt notes but fairly abrupt and clean. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with low-to-medium carbonation. I think I may have set myself up for disappointment as I really love hoppy reds. While a good beer, this one misses the bullseye for my palate.
