CANtinuing right along with today's International IPA Day festivities, I have a CAN for The CANQuest (tm)!
From the CAN: "Double India Pale Ale"; "Keep Cold[,] Drink Fresh".
I Crack!ed the vent & although I do not do inverted Glugs as often as I did in the past, I am finding that Gussie Busch's center-of-the-glass method works equally well, if not better. Y'see, the point was always the creation of head and attendant release of esters so his pour style achieves the same effect, but with better CANtrol. It rose up to form just under three fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, tawny head with very good retention that left nice lacing in its wake. Color was a gorgeous solid-Amber (SRM = > 7, < 9) with NE-quality clarity. Nose was as cool as the dead of winter while standing in a pine forest and breathing deeply. With some caramel malt in the mix. Mouthfeel was medium, but on the light side for the style. The taste was fantastic! Really dank, resinous, pine, minty & just a hint of caramel malt, as it should be. Jeez-O, man, I got distracted & was really plowing through this 9.5% beast like it was the thing to do! It was just that tasty. I liked my previous beer for its IBUs, but I liked this one for its drinkability. Make no mistake, though, the finish was dry as a bone. I think that such was a part of why I was running through it so quickly - each sip made me want to have another. Jeezum, but it a moment of CANtemplation, this is really making me sweat in a way that has nothing to do with the Summer's humidity. Phew! All right, as the bottom of the glass approaches, I have to say that today is a joyous one. This was just such a tasty brew … YMMV.

Poured from a tallboy can into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Slightly hazed golden orange pour. 2 fingers of fluffy white head. Great retention and lacing.
S: Caramel malts, pine and citrus hops. Sweet and a little booze.
T/F: Follows the nose. Sweet malts/grains balanced out by bitter hops. Grapefruit and citrus, pine and resin, and some lighter floral notes. Fruit and black tea. Medium bodied... oily/sticky on the tongue. More bittersweet fruit at the finish. Booze a bit noticeable but doesn't really detract.
O: A super DDH version of the regular Left Eye Right Eye. A little boozy but a great tasting beer. Glad I was able to snag a 4-pack.

The beer pours out a lightly hazy dark golden color, with 2 fingers of off white head-------------- the aromas are of sweet malt, woody, earthy, toffee and citrus-------------- the flavors are of sweet malt, pine, orange, grapefruit, earthy, black tea and lesser peach, the beer has a medium slick mouthfeel with a overly bitter finish---------------- overall this is one of my least favorite from the lere series, with that said it was still a solid west coast double ipa

Pours a mostly clear amber gold with white head leaving moderate lacing. Nose has some citrus ,fruit ,danky hops and sweet malt. Taste follows more intensely with a hint of alcohol on the backend. A slight variation on regular LERE.

L: Beautiful clear amber with a big thick head that left tons of lacing.
S: Pretty even balance of grassy & dank hops with some bright citrus fruit notes.
T: Fuller, more going on than in the aroma, deeper fruity notes, all so very tasty.
F: Medium, good carbonation, can't tell the high ABV at all, but not exactly smooth or refined either.
O: Super impressed by this Track7 brew. I don't know much about El Dorado hops, but apparently they're delicious. Definitely for sure recommend.

Appearance - Pours slightly hazy with a brilliant orange hue and an off-white, finger width head. Fair retention before dying to a mostly barren surface with an island of suds floating about and a thin ring around the edge of the glass. A few broken lines and small spots make up the lacing.
Smell - The aroma hits on candied citrus and lesser pine with caramel and hints of peach and white grape.
Taste - Follows the nose. Big punch of grapefruit and orange with a bit of dank upfront and throughout. Some light peach and white grape fruitiness comes through mid-taste and rides out to the finish. Mild caramel and toasted bread make up a fair malt base. Aftertaste lingers with mild citrus pith, pine, lingering fruity & caramel sweetness and mild booziness.
Mouthfeel - Near full-bodied with low, tingly carbonation. Thick, chewy texture with a dry finish. Not the smoothest brew out there.
Overall - Strong, aggressive DIPA. A little rough around the edges but the flavor delivers. I think I prefer the OG LERE more though.
