Nose was a little faint...had to really search for it. Piney and hoppy notes on the nose and taste. Crisp and clean with a bitter finish from the IBUs. Slight tropical notes on this one, but still a really good entry into TIPAs from Track 7.

From the 02/03/18 can release

Appearance - Pours crystal clear and bright orange in color with an off-white, half finger width head. Fair retention before peeling back to a mostly barren surface and a thin ring of suds around the edge of the glass. Some broken lines and a handful of spots make up the lacing.

Smell - Strong citrusy and tropical notes with lesser dankness. Hint of white, bready sweetness.

Taste - Follows the nose. Clean, juicy orange and lesser pineapple character upfront and throughout. Hints of grapefruit and pine. Faint white bread sweetness. Clean aftertaste with a trace of fruity sweetness.

Mouthfeel - Full-bodied with moderate, tingly carbonation. Smooth, slick and slightly sticky texture with a refreshing, dry and faintly boozy finish.

Overall - This is a prime example of a great West Coast 3x IPA. It's got everything you look for. Clean but assertive flavor, and smooth despite the high ABV. It's up there with some of the better ones I've had. As a Metallica themed brew, I think it's only appropriate to tell you to 'seek and destroy'.

Pours a clear pale yellow akin to a lot of other Xipa's. Nose is not overwhelmingly hoppy as it should be , still quite nice. Taste is well balanced between malt and hops, the abv well hidden. For a 3xIPA - nicely done .

Very nice balance of hoppiness and bitterness in the front end. The follow through is a bit too sweet. Overall; an exceptional triple IPA. If this beer could maintain the hoppy/bitter taste throughout, it would rival The Younger.

Gold with a white head. Sweet malt and dank tropical hops dominate the nose. Palate is overtaken by dank and resinous hop bitterness with some sweet malt backbone and lots of tropical fruit and stone fruit. A well done triple IPA. Not boozy and doesn't go too far towards being a hoppy blond barleywine.

This beer can really compete with some of the big 3x IPA's out there!! I had this during Sacramento's beer week on tap. This beer is very complex and balanced for an IPA. Even with the 10% Alcohol content it's very easy to drink. Definitely make it over to Track 7 for this one!

Served on tap in a tulip glass at Pangaea in Sacramento. Brewed in collaboration with Peter Hoey from Sacramento Brewing Co. for Pangaea's 5th anniversary.

Pours a rich golden orange with a generous, dense off white head. Excellent clarity. Subdued bubble show.

Aromas are absolutely off the charts. Massive citrus, pine, floral, earthy, sweaty, and cat pee notes come at you from a foot away. I can't even imagine how many pounds of hops went into this single batch of beer. Possibly the finest fresh hop aroma I've ever encountered. Immense, complex and deep. Amazing.

The taste is very balanced for a beer with such a massive hop profile. The bitterness is nowhere near as aggressive as the nose would lead one to expect. Nor was the malt backbone as huge as the big ABV had me anticipating. The flavors are actually surprisingly delicate for such a huge DIPA. Citrus, tropical fruit, earthy/piney hops, nice round malts. Almost crisp. At no time did I feel like I was drinking a 10.8% beer. All of Track 7's high ABV offerings seem to have this same smooth drinkability that borders on dangerous.

Mouthfeel is on the lighter side, carbonation is about perfect, body is medium. A bit of oiliness from the hops.

My hats off to the guys at Track 7. Being a mile away from my house, I've downed gallons of pretty much all their beers, and while they're all very good to excellent, this may be their best offering to date. I sincerely hope they decide to brew this again. Not an everyday drinker, but a fantastic occasion beer. One of the best monster DIPA's I've tried anywhere. A hophead's dream. And my lady, who isn't too into heavily hopped beers, absolutely loved it.
