Handpump third-pint at the brewpub. Up to 3.9% according to the pump clip.

A: Clear pale amber body under a thin, reasonably sticky off-white cap. Light lace. Ok.

S: Brightly fruity and malty, with apricot and apple fruitiness highlighting some biscuity malt. Not much in the way of hops - maybe some light floral notes. Ok, but forgettable.

T: Biscuity malt up front, with some stone fruit and crisp herbal hops behind. Solidly bitter finish. Not very dynamic, but clean.

M: Light body, low carbonation. Average.

O: Not a bad bitter, but not a particularly good one, either. I preferred their Mild.

Cheers!

Served into a UK half pint glass at the Tap East brew pub

Golden/Blonde in colour with a very small (almost no) head

smells slightly of hops, but not too strong in this area, also smells citrus and pine

a good bitter flavour and with slight citrus taste - maybe a marmalade/orange, but only slightly so

Mouthfeel - quite a light beer without much body but a plesant dry/bitter aftertaste

A fairly typical and well produced English bitter
