Consumed November 23rd, 2013 at the brewery.
Beer is basically black with a light tan head. Nice sheeting.
Nice roasty aroma.
Flavor is powerfully smoky (but not like a rauchbier) and charred. Heavily roasted malt. Coffee-like. Moderate bitterness that lingers forever at the finish.
Proper mouthfeel for a porter, which is to say slightly thin and somewhat still.
An interestingly robust robust porter. I would order this again.

On tap at Kinetic Brewing Company in Lancaster, CA.
Pours an almost opaque super dark brown with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Foamy rings of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa, and coffee aromas. Taste is much the same with a medium roasty bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp but medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that is tasty and easy to drink.

Poured from growler into a guinness pint glass like
A...pitch black with a one finger tan head. Excellent retention and tons of lacing that covers the glass.
S...not alot of aroma here. Faint chocolate and coffee.
T...perfect porter taste. Well balanced malt that is a little bit smokey. Getting some cocoa and a hoppy finish that gives it a clean finish.
M...low carbonation, full feel. It's like taking a bite of beer.
O...very good porter. Helped that I got to talk to the owner and brewer about it. If youre in Lancaster definitely go to kinetic and have one of these. all of their beers are really good.

On tap @ the source
Look: Black with brown rings around the edges with a 1/2 inch tan head and good retention with some very nice circular lacing
Smell: Deep rich coffee and chocolate
Taste: Roasted malt upfront with a touch of ash backing that up. Some coffee notes mid palate and finishes with some nice chcolate notes
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with mild carbonation
Overall: Real good porter with nice flavors. Very solid beer from a up and coming brewery
