On nitro tap at Kinetic Brewing Company in Lancaster, CA.
Pours a clear dark orange-brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Foamy rings of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is of roasted malt, cocoa, earth, and nut aromas. Taste is much the same with cocoa and char flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of roast bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with solid aromas and flavors for the style.

Look: Black and totally opaque with a 1 inch tan head and exceptional retention and great circular lacing
Smell: Some roasted malt, coffee and a touch of chocolate but just a bit muted
Taste: Same as the nose however the back end carries a fair amount of ash
Mouthfeel: Not quite a thick full body with mild carbonation
Overall: For what it is it is not a bad beer just seems like a safe attempt at the style. The nose and flavors are heading in the right direction they are just a bit muted
