In an imperial pint glass the beer was black with a sticky tan head.
Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate.
More of a cocoa taste. Roasty bitterness.
A smooth, easy-drinking beer.

On tap at 38 Degrees in Alhambra, CA.
Pours an opaque black with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a film on top of the beer. A foamy curtain of lace coats the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa, cookie dough. Taste is much the same with a cocoa flavor on the finish. There is a mild amount of roasty bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer with some solid aromas and flavors.
