From review written 01-06-2014

The pour revealed a nice, crystal-clear, amber body with a sticky, clinging white head. Nice fruity, clove and banana aromas. Taste comes across slightly sweet and fruity. Crisp, clean, dry finish.

This beer came packaged in an Anchor Brewing Company sampler case (including their Steam, Porter, and Liberty Ale) and is labeled as their wheat beer with James Stitt's original label art on the bottle. The beer itself is very refreshing and flavorful and is a nice surprise to me. There is definitely a nice mix of wheat and barley malts which provide a smooth, slightly sweet character to the beer. The yeast does a nice job of complementing the malts by providing a great fruity aroma and flavor enhancement. I'll have to keep this one in mind for the upcoming hot summer days...

Appearance: Clean amber, with a nice tri-finger head of bone-white suds. Big, loopy tree-line lacing.

Aroma: Malty grains and a touch of fruitiness, and a hint of spices underneath it all.

Taste: Fruity and malty up front, with some spice coming in near the finish. An easy-to-drink and enjoyable brew. Maybe not an earth-shaker, but one I could enjoy anytime nonetheless.

Poured into a pilsner glass since I don't own a Weizen glass.

A: Fairly conservative pour still gave a monster head. Three fingers of dense, rocky foam. Ample carbonation in the beer itself. Bright golden/dark straw in color. Absolutely stellar retention. Annoyingly so, as I don't want a nose full of foam on my first sip.

S: Lightly sweet. Pale malts, light lemony citrus. Definite sweet biscuit. Getting light orange notes.

T: Light sweetness up front. Graham and honey. Some stone fruit, with a very mild hint of candy/bubblegum. Light bitterness, with more of the apple coming through. Finishes a bit grainy, with the fruit and honey sweetness coming back through.

M: Medium bodied. The carbonation didn't quite vitalize this like I thought it would. Slightly malt/alcohol heavy.

O: Decent. Not great. Wish brewers would stop putting tasting notes on the bottles. Also, fix your rating system Anchor.
