An Imperial Steam beer well aged in barrel, this brew is a real treat. It was aged for many months in well-used barrels, previously filled with rye whiskey and stout. The color is unreal, and the palate is filled with caramel and burnt sugar, as well as dried fruit and light nuttiness. A brew the Emperor would dessert with!

On tap at Anchor Public Taps. Pours a chestnutty brown color with no head. Boozey aroma for sure. Brandy is probably the most prominent. Molasses, dark bread, brown sugar and earth. The taste is dark fruits upfront. Plums, figs, prunes, brown sugar, molasses, dark cherries and nuts. The booze comes out more towards the end. Almost has a red wine flavor to it along with the brandy and rye. Medium to heavy body with low carbonation. This is a very unique beer I’m glad I got a chance to try.
