this beer pours with a medium deep golden hue - the head is fairly decent, buts dissipates rather quickly - aroma is rather faint, but hops are detectable in backround - taste is pleasant enough, but I would expect a bit more of a hops bitterness with a pilsener style - what we have here is more funky than bitter, though not unpleasant - mouthfeel is decent with a nice level of carbonation - overall a decent beer if not the best example of the style - RIP Anchor

Poured from 12-ounce can into a Lolita Pilsner Glass. Lovely pour: crystal clear golden color, with a thick white head that settled to a cap. Excellent retention, with lots of sticky lacing. Grainy and bready malt aromas and flavors, with grassy, herbal, and fruity overtones. Soft carbonation, medium-light bodied, with a crisp and lightly bitter finish. I paired this with grilled steak and salad, and it was divine. Overall, an excellent beer. I picked up the Best Coast Variety Pack on an out-of-town trip, thinking it'd probably be my only chance at these beers before Anchor's operations ceased. Hopefully they can find a way to keep going.

Canned on 02-22-2023, enjoyed 7/30/2023. Can tastes fresh enough. First time I had this beer is today.
Clean and crisp. Flavors of corn, grain, cracker, maybe biscuit, plus lemon grass and a micro hint of honey. Slightly sweet with slight dry bite on the end. Solid beer. I will give it a 3.89/5 overall.

I was lucky enough to visit the Anchor brewery with my sister in 2017 in California. I was heartbroken to learn they would be shutting down after over a century. We will miss you, Fritz and co. This pilsner has a nice golden hue and tasty biscuit note. Flavor is clean and mild. Not overwhelming flavor but right in the neighborhood of excellent for the style. Another reason to miss Anchor.

12oz can into a pint glass. Canned 2/22/23, so closing in in 5 months old.

Beautiful looking beer. Crystal clear golden yellow body, good carbonation, small white head. Light malty aroma. Thin, slightly sweet taste, with a decent dry hop bite.

Appearance: Clear, brilliant gold color. Frothy white head with good retention.

Aroma: Floral hops. Cracker-like and toasty malt

Flavor: Malt forward. Cracker, light toast and grainy. Spicy hops. Restrained bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied. Effervescent and drying.

Overall: This is a solid pilsner. Easily drinkable. It's four months old to boot. Very nice looking beer in a pilsner glass. Clear, bright and brilliant while holding its head well. It's floral in aroma. Has nice spicy hops kick from Noble Hops. Dry and crisp and clean at the finish. Slight bitterness. I'm reviewing several Anchor beers I have not had, as they have announced they are closing their doors. Hard to believe this brewery is faltering with a good offering like this.

Hazed gold with two fingers of yellowed head. Solid retention and rocky dissipation. Decent lacing. Bready aroma with a hint of mint and maybe even some bubblegum. Lightly sweet, lightly bready taste. Clean finish. A slight mineral water quality. Medium bodied with some light zip from the carbonation. Very solid pilsner. Canned four months ago and stored room temperature.

12oz can into a tall Pilsner glass.
L: Pours clear bright light gold w a 1" eggshell white rocky head, good retention, large steady carbo bubbles, sticky skeletal lacing.
S: Crackery bready malts, grains, lemon peel/overripe, pastry dough, light yeast, a hint of field grass.
T: Sweet malts, grains/corn, a bit pale, light citrus zest, a touch of honey.
F: Moderately crisp med-body w a slight linger and med-fast finish. Not at all dry for the style.
O: A lightly sweet Pilsner that is gently crisp and is easy drinking. Straight ahead, nothing special. It is good in its style.

Pours a light colored straw with well over a finger of head. The nose has grassy and crackery notes. The flavor is definitely crisp. There's a lite lemon punch upfront followed by light maltiness.

This is a good summer lawn mower beer but I wouldn't instantly identify it as a pilsner.
