Dark with a roasty chocolate smell. Light coffee and smokey in taste. A bit too watery in the mouthfeel. Good taste hold back by its body. A decent stout.

Poured into a Duvel tulip. The liquid is pitch black and opaque with some small bubbles visible on the edges of the glass. The pour produces a really thick and frothy tan head that lasts for a couple minutes before fading to a solid cap.
Aroma is chocolate, lactose, hints of coffee. Really nice sweet flavors without smelling cloying.
Flavor follows the nose - bittersweet chocolate with a nice lactic kick. Not sure if this actually has lactose in it, but it tastes like a really good milk stout. Finish comes out a little bit sweeter, as the more milky flavors take over.
Overall, really solid milky bittersweet stout, even if nothing incredible or different.
Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. It's super-dry on the palate and on the finish, in a good way.

Got this one from the liquor store down the road. Drank it next to a Stout 8 for comparative purposes.
From a bottle into a snifter
Best Before 13/03/2015
Color 130 EBC
50 IBU
APPEARANCE: Pours out transparent brown. Poured carefully, a two finger, medium looking, fluffy, light, creamy tan head with very good retention results. Bistre brown body and higher levels of carbonation. Slowly fades to a full, foamy cap and leaves some lacing down the glass. A decent wisp remains and leaves lots of nice lacing down the glass. A little thin for the style and the head was a little tough to manage, but it settled down nicely. Slightly lighter in color and a lighter colored head than the 8.
SMELL: Milder nose of leather, tobacco and some cocoa powder. Some caramel notes and a hint of licorice. Not as roasted as hoped. Much like a milder version of the 8 with a touch of sweet cream from the cocoa notes.
TASTE: Leather, and licorice up front with caramel sweetness as well. A more pronounced finish with cocoa powder, tobacco, ashy burnt flavors and some chocolate bitterness. The burnt cigaretts and tobacco linger persistently on the palate. Very burnt and a harsh bitterness lingers. Much harsher than the 8, which is a little rough in its own right.
PALATE: Medium body and higher levels of carbonation. Slightly light on the palate, a touch airy, goes down alright and finishes a touch astringent. Ashy and harsh bitter flavors linger.
OVERALL: Not my cup of tea. The look is quite thin for the style, but the harsh burnt flavors after the swallow become tiresome. It's a little too burnt and the harsh, acrid bitterness is difficult to get excited about. I would take an 8 over this, only because it's not as harsh and astringent after the swallow.
