This pours slightly hazy. Light aroma, with hints of pine and citrus under a touch of peach and wine grapes. It's bitter and bold on the palate, with that wine grape note. I liked it.

Had on tap at the brewery. Think I've had it before but this new batch is absolutely killer. A more intense version of Simpleton. Hazy appearance, floral, citrusy, perfect bitterness balance. A little bit of that Sunny D going on. Little to no burn. A fruity blast that holds up to all the best east coast stuff I've had.

This would hold up to many NE IPAs any day....may be even better than some. Throw this in a can and you got a juice trade bait to the like of trillium and tree house...
Delicious.

Growler to glass. As soon as the growler was opened, I was hit with a wave of quality dankness. The earthyness of the beer perfectly compliments the dankyness. The citrus on the back end balances out this tremendous IPA.

Really tasty DIPA from SARA. Pours murky and hazy, with light loose carbonation that's typical of SARA's natural carbonation process. Smell is dank fruitiness, a bit of floral orange pith, and a nice touch of earthy balance from the Summit (I was a bit wary initially, as I've definitely experienced Summit-induced onion flavors in IPAs before, but none were present here). Taste is similar, and interestingly, a bit fruitier than I remember this beer being when I first had it a few months ago. I believe they've added Amarillo to what was initially just a Summit/Equinox blend, and the difference is notable. Mouthfeel is smooth, with a nice bitterness at the end. Doesn't feel anywhere near 8%. Overall, a great DIPA from SARA. They seem to focus on farmhouse/wild ales, and for good reason, but they can definitely make a great hop bomb too.

Yes, there is bitterness in this beer. WHAT?!?! Remember the days when people sort of expected an IPA to have some bitterness? Remember when adults craved a beverage that wasn't just juice that would (Fucking A) get you driz-unk?! Looks hazy and pulpy. Carb is a little looser than ideal, not tight bubbles, but leaves a spattered lace. Bitter orange, and by that I mean actual bitter oranges like you'd use in Cuban cuisine. Middle of the body is a bit watery, soft, almost velvet or mossy. Not as much pine as expected from the name. Walks a line between citrus sweet (replace the acidity with bitterness to achieve a similar balance) and dryness.

Very hazy, unfiltered, with a wartish taste, some citrus hop and caramel malt interaction, but the astringency and clawing bitterness detract from the taste.
It's clear they only made this beer to make money and to appease demand, but they certainly have a lot to learn about making IPA's, especially for the price they charge ($4-5 per taster). They should just stick to the sours.
