one of the more basic beers i have had from these guys, a hopped up belgian blonde, but its not all that delicate or easy drinking for what it is, and i didnt love this one overall, despite it being predictably well made and all. mostly clear on the pour with a nice frothy white head that leaves droopy lace as i drink it down. i smell and taste beglain yeast right away with notes of white grape and pear, as well as a soft woody spice, birch or something, very pleasant in its ester profile, not overly belgian here, likely not fermented too warm comparatively. whats weird in this one for me are the hops, not sure what types are involved here, but to my palate the clash with the yeast a little bit, its like fruits that dont go together, like, i dont know, banana and grapefruit, you would never mix them right? thats how the hops and the yeast fruitiness seem to me, maybe not that disparate, but something like it, where they clash in a way, the yeast wins over the hops, and there isnt any bitterness here or anything, but its not as compatible as it sounds like it should be, i think because of the varieties in play, but i dont know for sure. good carbonation and smooth going down with a lot more body than most of these have. still an interesting and enjoyable beer for sure, but this is not my favorite of their impressive body of work.
