This had to be the biggest letdown of SFBW/Sour Sunday for me in 2020. 1st substantive review of this beer on BA.
Poured an unattractive ruddy brown. If you look for it you can see a red hue to it. The aroma lacked the tart cherry as promised in the commercial tug job. Just pretty much had a very boozy cooking sherry edge to it that bordered on being unpleasant. At this point, I'm all in on this being my least favorite Sante beer, and that is after two different trips to the source and all kinds of bottles and festivals having them knock my socks off.
Taste at least took on some notes of what this beer was supposed to be beyond the massive amount of sherry which any way you slice it, just didn't jive with me. For me, nothing going on here was like a saison, it tasted and had the mouthfeel of a 13% beer, nothing saison about it. Just tasted like a hot quad or something with lots of dark fruit bitterness and high alcohol heat. I finished my pour, but wasn't happy about it.

The bartender talked me into this due to limited availability. Wonderfully tart and refreshing.
