On tap at the brewery. Pours a dark chocolate color with a sticky fine tan head. Candied citrus nose, notes of orange and grapefruit with a dusting of cocoa. Flavor is similar but the roastiness is a little stronger. Sweet malty notes on the back end with a pummeling bitterness. Somewhat acidic as well. Nice balance between hops and roast -- definitely not in porter/ stout territory or IPA territory. It hits that gray area that the black IPA style was created for.
