This beer is a clear yellow beer with a decent white head.

Smell is sweet and unusually fruity for a lager of any type. Lots of rose aroma that I tend to identify with the presence of fusel alcohol. Some sweet malt aroma with a bit of bread scent.

Taste is sweet at the start with some fairly strong cooked vegetable flavor. Decent bitterness level and the tell tale taste of oxidation. Carbonation level is quite high and this is a fizzy beer.

Mouthfeel is on the thin side.

A fair stab at trying to create a Warsteiner clone in Bulgaria. This probably isn't half-bad when fresh but what is being sold in California is old. To be fair the last batch of Warsteiner from Von's was oxidized too. Well it was really cheap I guess it has that going for it.

Walking around the best beer store on the west side of LA, beverage wharehouse, I was reading the label of this bulgarian brew and thought ehhh why waste my time? Then on the back I see its under the control of weihestenphan in munich...Thats enough to spark my interest for sure. As far as the style I checked their website and searched around for a bit and couldn't find anything. It looks like a macro. tastes like a macro....surely in my opinion its a macro lager.

Poured into a tulip it forms a never dying, white, frothy, shaving cream style head. Its supported by loads of carbonation, yellow body, plenty of lacing. A healthy looking brew.

4.7% indeed a session brew. It has some cake, bread like quality to it. If your critical like me you can get some wasted wet cardboard in the backend. Nothing to worry about as its very subtle. Some beans and rice for some reason come to mind as well, especially in the aftertaste. Grains are sweet and get annoying as it warms. Fizzy carbonation.

I should have listened to my first instincts. It is your typical eastern block type of brew. I'd much rather have a local, cheaper, macro if I'm in the mood....Give me a PBR and leave this on the other side of the pond.
